A man will remain behind bars after allegedly stabbing a woman to death in what police allege was a domestic violence-related incident.

Kenneth James Knight, 50, allegedly stabbed the woman at a house on Wortumertie Street in Bourke in the state's far west on Saturday morning.
The 47-year-old woman died at the scene, police confirmed.
A crime scene was setup at the property, which has been examined by detectives and specialist forensic crews.

Knight was taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with domestic violence-related murder and contravening an apprehended violence order.
He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Bail Court on Sunday. During the brief proceedings on Sunday morning, Knight was not required to enter pleas to the charges.
He made no application for bail, and was was formally refused.
The case has been adjourned to Dubbo Local Court on Monday where Knight will face a magistrate.
