Krystal Lamb was a stay-at-home mum for 12 years, and was inspired by her young kids to take on a role with the Bumbira Arts and Culture Program at the LALC in early January, to try and make Tamworth a better place.
She's one of several passionate new staff - the organisation ended the year with a team of six, but in the past two months, seven new faces have been added to the team.

"I believe the more we connect to our culture and each other, our social and emotional well-being improves, and our identity and the community as well, getting out there and meeting people," Ms Lamb said.
"I am a mum of five girls and just being around in the community and ... also being a mum myself, I just thought this role would be really good for me."
The Bumbira group presents workshops and activities - with a focus on culture and art - to the Gomeroi community.
"Culture is part of art and even our languages can be a focus in this program because it can all be connected, we are people of stories and that's how we connect with each other and community," Ms Lamb said.
"We're very spiritual people and we do connect through art and culture so it's really important that it's a really big focus ... because of everything that is happening and the loss of our culture and the loss of languages.
"I'm still learning, every day, so it's good to be involved in that sort of program so when you meet up with other community members and other groups that have knowledge too, and we can all share it."
Eedi Jennar has also recently started at the Tamworth Local Aboriginal Lands Council office.
She went to school in Tamworth, and is now supporting local students and kids to make the most of their futures through the Opportunity Hub.
"It's really cool, you get to go and have some fun with [the students] and at the same time teach them life tricks and life skills and help set them up," she said.

Long-term staff member Brittni Wann is enjoying the busy office, and said she was feeling hopeful about exciting things planned.
"We have a fully female staff here which is awesome and it's the most amount of staff that we've had in the Tamworth LALC office before," she said.
"I feel really excited, really happy, really positive, about the future of the Tamworth LALC and what we can do for the community."
A couple of the new staff started at the beginning of this year, while a few more started in February.
The new staff will support the opportunity hub and the Bumbirra arts and culture program, and information on the variety of programs on offer for the community is available on their website.
