Rain early in the week gave the track a good soak and if the forecast comes to fruition, punters should see racing on a good deck at Quirindi on Boxing Day.
"We've had about 60mm of rain yesterday on [Monday] and the day before so right at the moment we've got a heavy track but the forecast is indicating we'll get through until boxing day itself without any more rain. As soon as it stops, the track will improve," QJC secretary manager Ted Wilkinson said.

The five-race meeting will be highlighted by two main races.
Eight horses have nominated for the Railway Hotel Murrurundi Cup (2000m) with five set to go around.
Meanwhile, 14 names were put forward for Cactus Wilson Memorial with 10 accepting.
"Cactus Wilson was a trainer and his son still lives in Murrurundi and sponsors that race," Wilkinson said.
"He was one of those very interesting characters. Anyone living in Murrurundi at the time knew him."
Wilkinson was hoping a bumper crowd would turn out for the Boxing Day event.
"I'm expecting between 1000-1200," he said.
"I've got bookings of nearly 200 already.
"We'll have plenty of signs with the covid obligations on them up and everyone coming to the races will have to register at the gate."
Inverell will also host a five-race meeting on Boxing Day.
In total, 43 horses accepted for the Quirindi meeting while 30 have accepted for Inverell.
