A TAMWORTH man has been granted bail after police allegedly uncovered a stash of ice worth more than $10,000 in a car.

Police homed in on the 29-year-old man on Tuesday almost three weeks after they intercepted a car with the drugs south of Tamworth.
The Western Region Enforcement Squad, together with highway patrol officers, first stopped the white Mitsubishi Pajero in the early hours of September 23.
Officers pulled the four-wheel-drive over on the New England Highway at Timbumburi, about 16km out of Tamworth, police said.

After speaking with the driver, they searched the car where they claim they uncovered 10.5g of what is alleged to be methylamphetamine, or ice, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Police confirmed on Wednesday that the drug could fetch up to $10,500 on the street.
After investigations into the car stop, police moved again on Tuesday morning.
The 29-year-old man was arrested at a Cole Road home just before midday and taken to Tamworth police station for questioning.
He was later charged with supplying an indictable quantity of drugs, as well as possessing methylamphetamine.
He's been granted conditional bail by police and ordered to front Tamworth Local Court next month.
