Those two initial picks highlighted his thinking of how his Marius Street Family Dental side will attack the upcoming Wests Entertainment Group 9's at Scully Park.
Taylor has been a standout fullback in Group 4 and Greater Northern junior rep sides as well as his Farrer Memorial Agricultural High First XIII.

Blanch also graduated from Farrer, leading the school to a University Shield (against Sarah Redfern High in 2008) before heading to the NRL and a four-year stint at Manly.
He knows what the culture is like at Farrer and knows from watching Taylor slice through attacking sides just how good, exciting and brilliant the teenager can be.
It's why he selected him first and foremost.
Not far behind was his North Tamworth teammate Mitch Sheridan, whose brilliance comes from a different setting.
He's not blessed with the same electrifying pace as Taylor but with a brilliant grasp of how to play the game and being a totally committed and 80-minute worker and schemer.
"I've seen what he does in 80 minutes," Blanch said of his versatile utility star.
"He will be more than competitive in the 9's."
His experience and ability to play multiple positions will be a huge asset along with the experience and ability provided by Dungowan Cowboy stars Matt Wilson and Brett Jarrett.
"Brett was awesome in the Jack Woolaston 9's," Blanch added of a player he thought might have been player of that initial 9's tournament.
Size and speed combined, he thought of in terms of backrower Jarrett.
"I also tried to get some youth and speed as well," he said of young talents such as Jack Rumsby (Kootingal) and Lachlan McGrady (Moree).
"I've got some good mail on him," he said of McGrady a teenage son of the former Moree Boars star centre Barry McGrady.
Lachlan has been attending St Gregory's, Campbelltown and is a fleet footed fullback.
If he has his father's ability he will be a star attraction.
Another teenager with talent is Dan Kelly.
"He's been a great player for the North juniors," Blanch said.
"He's got a big future and it is good to have him in our side. We've also got Brayden Jerrard. He's another exciting and quick player. He was a very good late pick for us."
