And now, the baton has been passed to local businesses to help create the final product.
Mr Buchan is a Tamworth musician, who set out to sing David Bowie's Heroes with his band, Al and the Buchaneers.
The band's cover of the iconic song has been recorded and released, but it's the concept for the video clip which Mr Buchan is now getting off the ground.
"The people who haven't been celebrated and recognised are people behind the scenes," Mr Buchan told the Leader.

"We want to fill the video with all the images ... the more the merrier," he said.
Mr Buchan said the band's Heroes video will celebrate everyone who played a part in keeping things moving during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I thought, there's still water and power and electricity and telephones and council and government services ... there's the journalists who bring us the news," he said.
"Those are the real heroes for me."
