A MAN wanted on a raft of offences who allegedly tried to outrun police has been denied bail in court.
Justin Dean Smith appeared via video link in Tamworth Local Court on Friday on six sets of matters after his arrest in a carpark a day earlier.
Magistrate Mal MacPherson refused the 24-year-old bail in court, ordering him to stay in custody until mid-August.
In court, Smith pleaded guilty to escaping officers who tried to arrest him on Thursday in Werris Creek.
Oxley police were called to the town's railway station after reports of an assault.
Officers spoke with Smith who they claim had several warrants out for his arrest. When they tried to arrest him, he broke free from officers and fled.
Police gave chase and captured Smith in a nearby carpark. He was charged with assaulting police and escaping custody.
Smith faces a raft of property crime offences including breaking into homes while people are home; trespassing and aggravated break-and-enter.
He will return to court in mid-August.
