A MAN has been charged with drug dealing after police allegedly uncovered 15 bags of ice in a car in Tamworth.
The Oxley Target Action Group (TAG) stopped the sedan Jamie Alchin was in on Gunnedah Road, just after 9.30pm on Friday.
Police said they had cause to search the car and uncovered 15 clear resealable bags containing what they allege to be methamphetamine, or the drug ice.
"Equipment to facilitate drug supply, as well as mobile phones and a knife was seized," Oxley Detective Inspector Jason Darcy said.
"The male was arrested and take to Tamworth police station where he was subsequently charged and refused bail."
Alchin spent the weekend in custody and fronted Tamworth Local Court on Monday facing allegations of supplying more than an indictable quantity of drugs; possessing drugs; and custody of a knife in a public place.
He pleaded not guilty in court to all three charges. After hearing a release application, magistrate Julie Soars also granted Alchin bail, and adjourned the case until July.
As part of his bail conditions, Alchin must report to police daily; live at an Oxley Vale address under a night time curfew; not contact witnesses; and is prohibited from taking drugs or drinking alcohol.
Police said investigations are continuing.
