The Gunnedah trainer first tasted success with Annie's Street, which took out the day's fifth event, before capping it off with a convincing win for Epic Decision in race eight.

Gunnedah's fast track conditions suited both runners, as the duo lead for much of their respective races.

Groth said Epic Decision had "no excuses" leading into Tuesday's final event.

"It was a pretty good day for the stable, that's for sure," Groth told Sky Racing's Thoroughbred Central.

"He [Epic Decision] has been the victim of circumstance with weights and barriers, and things like that.

"But today [Tuesday], he had no excuses and all of our horses ran like we know they can."

Despite a fast finish from Luke Morgan's Fussdinado, Groth's six-year-old bay gelding proved too strong, to lead from start to finish.

"If you're in the trenches he's exactly the horse you want in there with you," Groth said.

"He doesn't lie down."

The win marked Epic Decision's seventh of its career from 37 starts and the first with Jake Pracey-Holmes in the saddle.

"I thought he was the best horse in the race and that's why we just jumped at the lead," Pracey-Holmes said.

"We took it straight up to the lead, which is what I like to do too."

Groth's victories added to a successful day for the region's trainers, as Armidale's Stirling Osland tasted victory in race three with New Endeavour.

Tamworth's Jane Clement and Zach Hatch also recorded victories with Desert Marshal and Hey Dude in races six and seven respectively.
