However at the end of each year, there is one very special activity that residents and school children both get excited about - the annual Christmas Card Competition.
RFBI's Annual Christmas Card competition has been running for six years and this year involved 19 schools and 22 students from across NSW and ACT. The theme this year was 'Christmas around the world' and as always, selecting a winner was extremely hard.
"We awarded the winner of the Christmas card competition on the same day we had our Christmas party with the preschool children and we gave them all little gifts," said General Manager, Elizabeth Diebold.
"The little gifts were a cardboard gingerbread house that our residents and the children created together. There was lots of cuddles and smiles and all the children commented on how much fun they had."
"At RFBI, we are always looking for new and innovative ways we can enhance the quality of our residents' lives. The annual Christmas Card Competition was introduced to create a new way for our residents to bond with young people and share a few laughs - and it has been a huge success," CEO, Frank Price, said.

"Thank you to all the schools and every student who took part. I hope each of you had just as much fun creating your Christmas Card designs as our residents have had judging them."
The competition was judged by residents and winners were awarded a $50 book voucher and certificate, while their school also received a $100 book voucher.
