The event started in America and teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to compete against other teams in an engineering challenge.
And, the big robo-showdown date is set for The Youthie's STEAM Expo, where kids can get involved in robot races, virtual reality rollercoaster rides, 3D printing and heaps more.
The kids have taken to the challenge like a duck to water, Makerspace and Digital Learning coordinator Julian Mann said.
"Technology is where the jobs are and where the growth is," he said.
"Everything is being automated and computerised, and a lot of jobs need engineering and problem-solving skills.
"These kids aren't afraid to try it, they've grown up using the technology and know it's difficult to break so they give it a go."
