Tamworth Hockey Association president Mark O'Connor said the idea of the sessions is to give people the opportunity to give the sport a go without having to pay the cost of registration.
"It's a fabulous opportunity for people to come and try hockey," he said.
"Hockey is a great sport and caters for people of all levels and shapes and sizes."
It is a sport that all the family can play as illustrated last weekend when five father and sons played together in one of the Saturday afternoon trial games.
The junior sessions will run from 9am-10am on Saturday morning and cater for players from Tadpoles and Minkey through to primary-age.
The first of the men's come-and-try trial games will follow from 3.30-6.30pm and target third grade players, and be followed by another series of games from 10.30am on Sunday morning for potential first and second graders.

"We've done it for the juniors before but we haven't formally designated come-and-try days for the men," O'Connor said.
Mouthguards will be required to play but sticks and shin pads are available to borrow if needed.
