That is the challenge Tamworth’s leading batsman this season has set his teammates ahead of the side’s crucial two-day encounter against competition leaders Old Boys at No.1 Oval on Saturday.
With three rounds to go before the semi-finals, Rixon conceded that the fourth-placed Redbacks needed to iron out their form fluctuations.
He said the team could deliver at any time. “It’s whether they believe it themselves,” he said, adding: “I don’t know if it’s [confidence] something that comes with age, but you need confidence in yourself to go out and be aggressive or feel you can compete at a higher level.”
Rixon said the side “touched on” the issue earlier in the season. He admitted that some of his players were “in a bad spot” confidence wise.
“It will be a challenge against Old Boys,” he said. “They’ve won a few in a row and they’re a good batting side. We’ll have to make sure we’re switched on.”
Norths are about four points behind second-placed South Tamworth.
