Country music fans are being offered the chance of a free hearing check, when the Australian Hearing bus pulls into town next week.
The bus has become a regular visitor to the city during the festival – screening about 500 festival-goers and helping to raise hearing health awareness.
Australian Hearing Tamworth Manager Kim Jones said that because age-related hearing loss developed gradually over time, people are often unaware their hearing has diminished.
“Music and hearing go hand in hand, so it’s important that people look after their hearing health so they can continue to enjoy music for years to come,” Ms Jones said.
“A hearing check is a quick and easy way to measure the sounds you can and can’t hear. Our team will also be on hand to guide you through what next steps you may have to take in regards to your hearing.”
About 60 per cent of Australians over 60 experience some form of hearing loss.
