THERE were 7000 people that attended One Night Stand in Mount Isa on Saturday, according to Triple J organisers.
Triple J Unearthed winner Lucky Luke opened the concert with an energetic hip hop set, filled with guest MC’s from as far away as Alice Springs.
San Cisco impressed with their new tune ‘Hey Did I Do You Wrong’, as well as debuted brand new song ‘Kids Are Cool’, before inviting Thelma Plum on stage to perform a cover of Peter, Bjorn and John’s ‘Young Folk’.
Tash Sultana overcame a fierce flu to wow the crowd with her massive breakthrough hit ‘Jungle’, as well as treating Mount Isa to her brand new song ‘Murder To The Mind’, which had debuted on triple j just days before.
The Smith Street Band belted out crowd pleasers ‘Death To The Lads’, ‘Young Drunk’ and ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’, and started a heartfelt conversation about mental health before playing ‘I Don’t Wanna Die Anymore’.
Legendary hypeman Fatman Scoop made a last minute appearance to pump up the crowd, and even performed an impromptu ‘call and response’ during Thundamentals ‘Wyle Out Year’.
For the ultimate feel good finale, San Cisco and The Smith Street Band jumped up on stage in fluoro tracksuits to bust out their best moves to Thundamentals’ bouncy jam ‘Sally’.
