McRae’s Fitzroy Street store after a snowfall in July 1921. The site is now home to Carlo’s IGA Supermarket but was originally home to Mrs West’s millinery and dressmaking enterprise and then Murphy’s general store.

Francis and Donald McRae were born at Inverell and took over Murphy’s general store in 1910.
