The turf pitches were inspected at 8am, and it was evident that at least a couple of them would not be fit for play.
The first-placed Court House and third-placed Kookaburras were scheduled to square off at Kitchener Park while the second-placed Albion and winless Mornington were slated to meet at Wolseley Park.
It was the second time this season that a round of Gunnedah cricket was called off due to wet weather.
On the first occasion, Albion and Court House were scheduled to meet in one fixture while the other fixture involved the Kookaburras and Mornington.
It was unfortunate that Gunnedah’s first and second graders could not play the last scheduled round before the Christmas break, particularly as conditions were fine in the afternoon.
The third graders therefore were able to proceed as their matches were played on synthetic pitches as usual.
