Tyler Ellis: For working extremely hard in our activities on "My Family", creating a fabulous family tree.

Gold Certificates
Congratulations to the following students on achieving a Gold Certificate: Blake Thompson, Cooper Johnson, Joel Redgrove and Josh Curmi.
Director Visits Willow Tree
Mr Mark Young, director of Wollemi network visited our school on Tuesday May 24.
The purpose of Mr Young's visit was to observe teaching in the classroom.
Mr Young had extremely positive feedback on the behaviour and work ethic and pride in uniform of our students.
It makes us very proud to receive such positive feedback.
Australian Speech Communication Association Awards
Gus and Annabel Sevil attended the 2016 ASCA awards ceremony held at Ravensworth Girls School in Sydney on Saturday May 21.
Gus received a studio achievement medal and Annabel received a studio medal and another Willow Tree student, James Redgrove, received a studio achievement medal. The ceremony is held to honour outstanding students and encourage those who are doing their very best.
The awards were combined with performance from students showing the audience their skills in all types of communication.
Envirocom
On Thursday May 26 students participated in a school waste education program presented by Envirocom on behalf of Liverpool Plains Shire Council.
Students in K-2 took part in 'Food for Thought' while Years 3-6 participated in the 'Recycling' program.
All students had a fantastic time.
Thank you to Liverpool Plains Shire Council for subsidising the costs of the program and to Envirocom for presenting both presentations to our students.
Chess
A number of students enjoyed their first lesson of the year with Mrs Goodwin last Friday. Thank you to Mrs Goodwin who volunteers her time and expertise to teach our students the rules and strategies of chess.
