The evening began with our current year six processing in solemnly.
Mrs Louise O'Sullivan reported on the year that has seen a rise in enrolments from 150 to an anticipated enrollment of 185 children in 2016.
She also reported on the successful participation in various community and educational activities throughout the year.
Mr Heath Roods, P & F president, reported on the wonderful achievements during the year which culminated in the very successful Christmas Fair.
The school children - especially the library- directly benefit from their efforts.
School board chair, Andrew Galvin, reported on the history of our school and challenges being faced by education providers to enable our children to meet the demands of the environment they live in.
He emphasised the many changes already seen occur during his association with the school over the last 13 years and saw the changes as a formalisation of the many wonderful things already happening.
Our school choir entertained the assembled families on what was Mrs Maria Creigh's final assembly as she has resigned for the coming year.
Maria has been a wonderful asset to our school and will be missed.
We hope that she returns to us at a later date.
Mr Noel Hurley, Catholic Schools office, acknowledged the 20 years of service given to St Joseph's by both Mrs Maureen McNeill and Mrs Judy Ryan.
Noel had also previously been a principal at our school working with both ladies during his tenureship.
Acknowledgment of Fr Ross' impending retirement was also made by Mrs Louise O'Sullivan and Mr Noel Hurley.
As our spiritual leader for the past eight years he has helped St Joseph's staff, student body and Parish form a closer bond with the church.
We thank Fr Ross O'Brien, Mr Jason Crocker (ADIG) and Mr Geoff McManus (McCarthy Catholic College) for joining us and presenting awards on the evening.
The evening ended with a wonderful rendition of the carol Noel Noel by all students lead by Mrs Creigh and a slideshow of events and faces of our school prepared by Mr Danny Dalton (AEA).
