This year was the biggest year ever in the history of HRIS primary chess with an amazing 216 students from 11 HRIS schools in both the open and junior divisions.
Students ranged from year one to year six with many students competing in their very first chess tournament.
A junior and senior team battled with seven rounds being completed and the day finishing at 2.30pm.
Students really enjoyed the day.
Congratulations to Nathan Brown and Albert Smyth for taking on the role of team captain.
As a result of the day's competition the students have been awarded their NSW chess rankings.
Both teams played well with the junior team placed in the top five junior teams on the day.
