Special bus services will be added to the public transport network on Wednesday to coincide with the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Transport Minister Stephen Mullighan said transport would run despite planned industrial action on the day.
“These services will provide an opportunity for South Australians to use public transport to come and see the Duke and Duchess during their visit to Adelaide’s northern suburbs,” he said.
“There will be express services to Elizabeth from the City, Mawson Lakes and Tea Tree Plaza every 15 minutes from 7am to 9am and returning services between 1pm and 3pm.
“There will also be a free shuttle bus from Argana Park to the Elizabeth Civic Centre every 15 minutes between 7am and 10am and again from 1pm to 3pm.
Mr Mullighan said services were being organised in the event that industrial action proceeded.
- Southlink to roster on all available staff not participating in the industrial action to minimise the impact on commuters .
- Southlink will seek to minimise the impact on regularly scheduled northern services as a result of the royal visit.
- Additional capacity will be arranged on the Gawler train line to coincide with the royal visit.
- Seaford rail services will continue between Seaford and Brighton with substitute buses in place between Brighton and Adelaide.
- Full day services on the Belair line are set to resume again on Tuesday, April 22 and will not impact royal watchers travelling in from Belair.
