About 1.20pm, reports indicated a camper van had flipped a number of times before landing on its side three kilometres south of the Nowendoc turn-off.
It is understood an unknown number of people were trapped until emergency services, including police and ambulance paramedics, arrived on scene about a half-hour later.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter had initially been tasked to the accident with paramedics aboard but was called off because its services were not required.
Road paramedic crews assessed one patient at the crash site for shock but they did not require hospitalisation.
On Monday, at 6.50pm, a 23-year-old man suffered chest and arm injuries after his car rolled over on the Kamilaroi Highway.
He was treated at the scene before being transported to Quirindi hospital in a stable condition.
