I REALLY had no opinion about federal MP Malcolm Turnbull until I realised he wanted Australia to become a republic and also change our national flag. Wording on one of the flags proposed is unprintable.

While the same sex marriage bill was being pushed early in 2011, Mr Turnbull said he would not be voting for changes to the Marriage Act as per Liberal/National Party policy, but then he declared he would vote yes when the bill was presented in September 2012.
At times I felt Malcolm was more Labor than Liberal because he lost leadership due to support for Labor’s carbon tax etc.
Tony Abbott’s amazing courage in opposing the Gillard/Labor government’s carbon tax was rewarded when he became Opposition leader, and the Liberal/Nationals ratings escalated beyond expectations.
Early in November I was surprised to hear of independent MPs Tony Windsor and Andrew Wilkie support for Malcolm Turnbull to replace Tony Abbott as leader of the opposition. Then the debate continued on talkback radio. Would Turnbull be really better than Abbott as leader of Liberals? Could parliament work with the same policies?
With no opposition for a republic, will PM Julia Gillard become Australia’s first Ms or Madam President?
Anyone else frightened?
