A man has been knocked down by two men who broke into his Tamworth home overnight.

Police have been told two men forced entry into a home on Nyrang Avenue just after 1am on Tuesday morning, waking the occupant, a 54 year old man in the process.
The man told the pair the leave, but they refused before threatening him and throwing a rock through a glass panel.
The pair then left the property but returned a short time later and assaulted the man, knocking him to the ground.
The victim told police he escaped to his car and following another short struggle, fled to the Tamworth Police Station.

He was later treated in hospital for a laceration to the head.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward and have released CCTV of two men they believe can assist them with their inquiries.
