Hugh Evans continued his dominance on the water on the weekend with the Tamworth sailor taking out the opening heat of Lake Keepit Sailing Club's Autumn Cup.

Eight boats eagerly lined up at the start line and were lead away by Evans in his laser dinghy.
The fleet though managed to drag him back and by the windward buoy Quirindi sailor Michael Juchau had sailed to the lead in his gemini catamaran ahead of Kevin Overton (Tamworth) in his laser with Evans hot on his stern.
LKSC commodore Tim Corben reported that the wind was light and variable from the south-east, and the three boats headed around the course in a close contest.

Juchau went on to cross the line first for the second week in-a-row closely followed by Evans and Overton.
On corrected time Evans was awarded the win from Overton and Robbie Cull.
Corben also made special mention of new club member Henry Thompson. The farmer has relocated from Coolah to Gunnedah and "showed lots of potential and grit to finish mid-field in his first solo race in a laser dinghy".
