New director Kate Hoffman said the gallery's return had been highly anticipated, with the artworks themselves attracting international attention.
"We've got Rita Winiger who's based in Armidale and her exhibition is an abstract, landscape exhibition," she said.
"We've been fielding enquiries from Europe, from Asia and right here within our region and we've already started selling works before the exhibition had even opened."
The next stage of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, with Ms Winiger attending in person.
Ms Hoffman said it will be a wonderful opportunity for locals to meet the hugely talented creative, as well as have a look at the gallery's new set up.
"Rita is going to be coming to the gallery this Saturday and we're just going to do a casual warm and welcome 'come meet the artist' from 11am until 2pm."
Another reason Ms Hoffman is excited for locals to come see the gallery is because it has had a bit of a makeover since it was last open.

She said a number of changes had been made, with lockdown actually providing the opportunity to do so.
"Part of what I wanted to do was make an easily accessible, open air stock room display area so that our customers can see more of the range of art that we hold," she said.
"We don't just do exhibitions but we have a stock room that has art in it that can appeal to anybody, there are more traditional landscapes and there's very contemporary works.
"And there are more changes to come, that was the first step and I wasn't actually going to do it until next year, but I just took advantage of the opportunity that lockdown presented."
More changes will be made in early 2022, she said, but for now the focus is on Saturday's exhibition meet and greet, and reintroducing locals to the gallery.
