POLICE have issued Penalty Infringement Notices (PINS) to two men who ignored public health orders by travelling from the Central Coast to the Northern Tablelands on Saturday.

Officers from the Tenterfield traffic and highway patrol stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer on the New England Highway just south of Guyra at around 11am.
After speaking with the driver, a 20-year-old man, and his male passenger, the men were issued with $1000 fines.

It was found the men had come from Kanwal and Charmhaven, about 35 kilometres north of Gosford.
The Central Coast, along the Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour are included in the Greater Sydney region which is currently in lockdown.
People who live in those regions are not allowed to leave unless it is for essential reasons, which can be found on the NSW Government website.
Police in the region have been conducting regular checks on vehicles and public transport services in order to catch anybody doing the wrong thing.
