Hannah Kamminga-Morris died in hospital hours after the accident on the New England Highway, north of Bendemeer on Thursday morning.
The 17-year-old suffered critical head injuries and was airlifted by the region's Westpac Rescue Helicopter to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, but tragically passed away.
Hannah has been described as "the apple of her family's eye" and was a loved daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend to many, who "loved life and had so much to offer".

"Losing Hannah will not only be a massive loss to her family but also to our small community of Kootingal and neighbouring Tamworth," organiser of the donation page, Amber-Jade Kuczer posted online.
"She had the most beautiful, contagious smile and would light up any room she walked into. She had the ability to brighten anyone's day with her kind heart and caring nature.
"There are no words to describe the pain her family are feeling except for utter despair, disbelief and total devastation."
By late Monday, more than $3000 had been raised to help the family prepare to lay the 17-year-old to rest.
Supporters said Hannah was her way home to Kootingal when her car left the road and struck a tree.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, and a report is still being prepared for the coroner, who will ultimately rule on the cause of death.
