It's the first time the 10-week mentoring program will run in northern NSW and regional manager James McPherson said there's a number of opportunities on the table.
"It's just to recognise that there's a lot of professionals that might take a break for whatever reason and want to return to the workforce but find it a bit difficult or off-putting when technology or offices have changed," he said.
"The person would be working in their area of expertise, whether that's engineering or another area but it's having the managers and team around them to support them through that process.
"Certainly from our local region we are always looking for experienced engineers, in the past we have found it difficult to get people to relocate, there's a lot of good local engineers but they are already working so this is a way for us to compete for those roles."
The program launched in 2017 and GHD is looking for professionals with experience in engineering; environmental and earth sciences; project management; advisory roles like journalism, commerce or economics; architecture and landscape architecture and business services like HR.

The program targets regional NSW's shortage of skilled workers and recognises that women often leave the workforce to become mothers at a time when they could be ready for a promotion or leadership.
The idea is to bring them back to the office for a 10-week paid program with the potential for continuing employment.
The mentoring is on projects Australia and worldwide delivered by professionals all over the country, Mr McPherson said.
"It's about making sure we don't have talented people out there that can be brought back into the workforce, but it's also intended for women who have left a profession often before they get into senior roles," he said.
Applicants have to be able to work on a casual basis for 24 hours a week from Monday to Friday from July to October and must have been out of the workforce for two years or more.
