The club will stage a seven-race card, including a prelude for the $200,000 Great Northern Tamworth Cup.

"We asked Racing NSW to allow us to put on a race as a prelude," club administrator David Jewell said.

He added that it was something the club had been talking about before he took over as administrator, to create a bit more interest and give the locally-trained horses more opportunity to race in their home Cup.
That amount of prizemoney tends to attract some of the higher-rated horses.
The prelude to the Mornington Showcase (2100m), the traditional support race to the Cup, will also form part of Tuesday's Members Race Day meeting.
An opportunity to "catch up" with the members and "meet a few of them" and in turn for the members to "ask a few questions", there will be a free afternoon tea for members and prizes and giveaways.
It will be the last time the club races before the Cup meeting.
The highlight of the club's racing calendar, Jewell said hospitality sales are going well.
"Being on a Friday for the first time will be interesting," he added.
The first race on Tuesday jumps at 1.35pm. The Cup prelude is Race 6 at 4.35pm.
