On Saturday afternoon, a 23-year-old male was flown to hospital via the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service after suffering serious injuries in the accident, south east of Inverell.
It was reported he fell off a trail bike in a remote area of Stannifer. Emergency services were alerted but it proved to be a difficult rescue mission.
Local ambulance paramedics had to use a four-wheel-drive vehicle to access the accident scene.

When they arrived, paramedics treated the man's injuries to his lower limbs and pelvis. He was then stretchered out of the remote trail and transported to the Tingha sportsground.
The ambulance and patient were then met by the helicopter and its critical care medical team.
The chopper's medical team stabilised the man at the sportsground prior to being flown direct to the Tamworth hospital in a serious but stable condition.
