Running over Thursday, Friday and Saturday, there was plenty happening on and off the field, from elite sevens games involving the Australian men's side to community games featuring local senior and junior girls sides, a pre-season trial between the Waratahs and the Reds, coaching clinics, a long lunch and performances from Thirsty Merc and Furnace and the Fundamentals.
The biggest event the Narrabri club has ever-hosted, it was a boon for the local community with accommodation pretty much sold out and cafes, pubs and shops doing a roaring trade.
The main event was the Waratahs/Reds clash.
Over 3000 people watched Glen Innes product Alex Newsome's Waratahs snatch a 45-33 victory over former Inverell juniors team-mate Jock Campbell's Reds in an entertaining tussle and claim the inaugural Santos Cup.
