However a new diary, which is being heavily backed by NSW Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson, aims to inform the elderly of what their rights are and protect them from any potential physical, mental or financial harm.
Dubbed Legal topics for older people, it is free of charge and will also provide referrals to important legal and non-legal services that can assist seniors with their concerns and provide avenues for support.
Being designed for seniors, it also includes dates such as the NSW Seniors Festival, NSW grandparent's day and the 2021 school holiday periods.
Mr Anderson said it was incredibly important that older Australians have easy access to this kind of information.
Our seniors are such an important part of our local community," he stated.
"This free diary is an excellent resource for our seniors to gather information about everything from retirement villages, family finances and their pension, to elder abuse and scams.
We love to keep our seniors informed and this is just one way we can try to do just that."
Diaries can now be collected from the office of Kevin Anderson at 13 Fitzroy Street, Tamworth. Please phone (02) 6766 1422 to arrange collection or drop by the office during business hours.
