Along with capturing the John Cooper Golden Mile Wheel Race on Saturday, the 18-year-old also won a scratch event.

So the Rauland rider will keep training through Christmas ahead of the national road championships in Ballarat in February.
In his rearview mirror is a year in which hard work with his coach, former professional Sam Spokes, morphed into a series of results that prove the teen is the real deal.
They include road racing gold, time trial silver, and hillclimb silver at the state championships. He also came third in the criterium and won the sprinters jersey at the nationals (all the results were in the under-19 category.)
"I noticed a lot of things just lined up this year," said Deasey, who recently finished high school.
"I don't think we've [he and Spokes] done anything different the last two or three years, but I feel like I've just developed.
"Me and my coach have worked on a lot of things over the last 18 months, and it's just all fallen into place this year."
The under-15 and under-17 state sprint championships were also staged at the velodrome on Saturday.
