The Red Cross Lifeblood challenge for real estate agents kicked off last week, sparking a friendly rivalry for a bloody good cause.
Karen Vial of Burke & Smyth tasted victory when the agency took out the top spot last year, but said that's not what it's about.

"I've seen my mum have blood transfusions, I've got friends with little tiny children who have needed blood products to keep them alive, so I've seen that side of it and it's just to help people and that's really important," she said.
Scott Bray from Davidson Cameron & Co. is a veteran donor of more than 15 years, and echoed that sentiment.
"For me, it's the best donation you can give ... it just becomes part of your routine," Mr Bray said. "The challenge is good because it gets other people interested in a very worthy cause.
"And, at the end, you get a milkshake," he joked.
The challenge will go for three months.
