After the residents were brought to safety, the crews contained the fire to the kitchen and worked quickly to prevent any further damage to the house.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were on the scene and treated both women for smoke inhalation.
The house has since been deemed safe by firefighters.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said Tuesday's incident was a prime example of why it was important to call 000 quickly in emergencies.
"Calling 000 for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed," the spokesperson said.
"The 000 service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you.
"It should be used to contact police, fire or ambulance services in life threatening or time-critical situations."
