Fire and Rescue NSW crews from the Tamworth 452 station answered meows for help just after 1pm on Thursday.
Firefighters had been sent to investigate after a report kittens were trapped in a roof space on Peel Street, in North Tamworth.

The confused kittens had crept through a manhole and into the roof cavity and were seemingly having trouble clawing their way out.
The rescue had a 'purr-fect' outcome when firies managed to free the fluffy little felines safely, and with no injuries.
The kittens were taken to the Tamworth Regional Council Pound on Thursday afternoon.
If they are not claimed, they will be put up for adoption.
