Their coach, John Hickey, said the reigning premiers produced an app featuring players involved in individual training sessions, and shared it among one another.

Hickey said: "Someone doing weights, someone doing a bit of aerobics, someone doing stretching - just to make sure that everyone else knows that everybody else is still trying, still trying to keep themselves healthy."

The mentor - an elite over-60 triathlete, who is also head coach of Swimming Gunnedah - said the side were currently producing another app.

"[It's] just a way to show everybody that we're still united ... just staying in contact more than anything," he said.

Such measures are more vital than ever after Rugby Australia last weekend announced that community competitions nationwide had been postponed until at last June 1.

Hickey said: "I think this is unprecedented. We're in a unique time in history, and we all need to just relax a little bit and wait for things to unfold.

"I don't think there's anything to do other than support the government at this stage, and then, following that, our leaders of different sports. And, so, I think we need to leave it in the leaders' hands and trust that they get it right."

In a statement, Rugby Australia said all rugby activity, including matches, training and face-to-face education courses, were forbidden until at least June 1.

"Given the uncertainty surrounding the length of time Government restrictions will be in place to combat the spread of COVID-19, Rugby Australia and the State and Territory Unions are not in a position to provide a specific return date," Rugby Australia said.

It said those organisations would continue to review this position as further updates from governments and health authorities were received.
