A GUNNEDAH man has been charged after police seized drugs in a car on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old was stopped on Hunter Street in Gunnedah at about 7pm for a random breath test.
During the stop, officers said they had cause to search the man and the car and discovered an amount of what police will allege is methylamphetamine, or ice; a number of tablets alleged to be MDMA, or ecstasy; and cannabis.

Police also found an amount of cash, which has been seized as part of the investigation.
The man was arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was questioned and later charged with supplying prohibited drugs, possessing prohibited drugs, and having suspected stolen goods in custody.
The 20-year-old has been granted conditional bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court in November.
Investigations are continuing into the matter.
