Staff members of a Tamworth takeaway store were threatened with a knife during a robbery at the weekend.

Police are investigating the crime after being called to the scene at Oxley Vale on Sunday evening.
A man brandishing the weapon had entered the Manilla Road premises about 6.50pm, demanding money and property from the workers.
He threatened the employees and ran from the store with cash and cigarettes.

Officers with Oxley Police District attended and have started their inquiries into the robbery.
The man has been described as Caucasian in appearance, and 175cm-180cm tall with a medium build.
He was wearing a dark grey hooded jumper with a motif, black tracksuit pants, and socks with no shoes.
