Hockeyroos star Kate Jenner says it will be "interesting" to see how Tamworth gels when the open state championships commence at Bathurst on Saturday.

Jenner based that comment on the fact that her and several other players have had no preparation with the side because they no longer live in Tamworth. However, she said that was normal.
It's a fairly young side, and we'll see how everyone steps up.

"Hopefully we all gel together fairly well," she said, adding that the other players meeting up with the squad in Bathurst included Alice Arnott, Abigail Doolan and Emily Chaffey.
"We always come back and play for Tamworth," Jenner sad.
"Most of the time we get comfortable again playing with everyone, and the combinations come together really well."
Tamworth returned to division one this year after winning division two last year.
Jenner said the side have a "reasonable chance" of reigning supreme.
They open their 2019 campaign against North West Sydney 1 on Saturday morning, followed by four more pool games. The tournament concludes on Monday.

Asked if Tamworth could win the event, Jenner said: "It's a fairly young side, and we'll see how everyone steps up ... we should have a reasonable chance."
Newcastle-based Jenner returned to the Hockeyroos this year, and has been training with the national development squad at the Australian Institute of Sport in Sydney.
