Jacob Geoffrey Matthews, 26, has pleaded guilty to 11 charges for separate incidents that span 2018 and into this year in Tamworth Local Court.
The charges include a police pursuit, driving while disqualified and without a licence, and domestic violence-related property damage.
Matthews' parents drove 10 hours on Wednesday to plead with magistrate Julie Soars for their son to be released on bail to their home in Queensland.
"I want to take him to Queensland to get the support he needs, because I think the Tamworth area is no good. He knows too many people in the drug scene," his mother said.
"He went to that place [Banksia] and they laughed in his face, he told them things he's never even told me about his childhood.
"He told me he wants the help and this time I really believe it." Court documents show Matthews had an assessment at Banksia Mental Health Unit but was released back into the custody of police.
Matthews started smoking cannabis at age nine and that reliance became more extreme in his 20s. Legal Aid solicitor Wendy McAuliffe told the court eventually he started using the drug ice and is now addicted.
One of the charges that landed Matthews in court was a police pursuit in West Tamworth in October 2018.

Matthews was driving a Commodore in West Tamworth when he failed to indicate off a roundabout. Police turned on their lights and sirens but Matthews did not pull over. Instead, the Gunnedah man accelerated, overtaking numerous vehicles on the wrong side of the road.
The police pursuit was called off for safety reasons. Minutes later a second police car spotted two men who were were questioned by officers. When asked why he took off, Matthews said he did not have a licence and was arrested. Matthews remains in custody and will be sentenced at the end of April.
