Water restrictions
Tamworth Council should have slowed the rate of subdivisions due to the lack of water available, not fair to subject residents to severe water restrictions due to their greed. Developments should be put on hold pending more favourable weather and infrastructure to keep up with growing population.

Mark Rodda may well be concerned re the “Blatant waste and political bribery” that he is accusing MP’s of. As a Councillor at Tamworth Regional Council why isn’t he active in curtailing the blatant misuse of rate payer’s money by Council. There are so many obvious cases of misuse of Council funds that range from members of staff travelling around inspecting things that they know very little about trying to tell people who are qualified how to do a job, to having staff and contractors working overtime on projects that are well suited to normal working hours. I am sure that I am not alone in making observations like this.
Councillors, to my mind are representatives of the community that votes them in to office and so should listen to the needs and secondly the wants of the people. As rate payers I am sure that the people of outlying towns and villages have great use for the Fitzroy Street whatever you want to call it when money could have been spent on improving water supplies for example. There are so many things that communities need but requests fall on deaf ears or are just ignored. Is anyone really held accountable for their actions or should I say the lack of action when contacted by members of the public be it by email or hard copy mail?

Fitzroy street shade
Yep, is sure does get hot down in Fitzroy street. We have been promised trees but that is going to take time. The trees in tubs will never do the job. So we need instant shade. Shade sails come to mind and give some relief. Specially designed ones with country music portraits might be good. A permanent display would add to our claim of country music capital and done well would attract tourism. The real cooling effect would be a water fountain, once again depicting a country music theme. An Australia wide design contest would create interest. Evaporative cooling systems work well in dry heat so run some air across the water in the fountain, even a few degrees less is effective. Lastly get some permanent shade trees in the ground. A simple solution. In the meantime we have it covered with sails.

Tamworth country music
I visited the festival for the first time this year and the heat was terrible especially with little ones. Maybe if it was held in the cooler months it would be heaps better. And also have variety of rides for all ages and spread them out down the other section of the block before that park and the stalls that were in Kable ave. Also lastly that showcase was amazing, but would be heaps better if they got a good spot to draw alot more people to see all the young talented aboriginal people and go longer then the 3 days, as it’s a great thing to have.
