The Bendeemeer cowboy was one of the stars of the show, winning the 14-U18 juvenile barrel race, 8-U18 junior breakaway roping and 14-U18 juvenile steer ride titles to be crowned the junior allround cowboy.
It is the 17-year old’s second allround triumph after winning the title as a 14-year-old back in 2016. He has also twice been a runner-up.
After what was his best season on the circuit, Nock carried an astonishing 122 point lead into the finals in the allround and was in a similarly commanding position in the barrel race and breakaway roping.
“I just stayed consistent I guess,” he said.
He placed in at least one of the events at most of the rodeos he attended.
“Pretty much every weekend we were on the road,” Nock said.
His travels took him all over the country – from North Queensland all the way over to Western Australia.

“I did four or five rodeos in Western Australia,” he said.
“I’ve been over there a couple of times.”
Despite still only being a teenager, Nock is a seasoned performer when it comes to the national finals.
This year was the 11th time he has qualified for the end-of-year extravaganza.
Incidentally that is also the number of titles he has now won.
The majority of those have come in the barrel race.
He has been the 14-U18 division champion for the last three seasons. Before that he twice won both the under-11s and 11-U14s titles.
All requiring different skillsets, he doesn’t at this stage have a favourite event.
“I like them all,” he said.
He was happy with how he performed at the finals and was among the money in at least one round in all three events.
“I was third in the barrels on one night and second another, and third in the overall average for the barrels,” he said.
He also picked up a second in the steer ride and was third in a round of the ‘breakaway’.
Into his final year as a junior, Nock has made a consistent start to the season.
This weekend he is off to Cassilis where he will compete in the steer ride, barrel race and breakaway roping.
As he prepares to step up to the senior ranks he said he might look to do some team roping this season.
Sophie Edmonds was the crowned the allround cowgirl for the second successive year.
