Just after 8pm, emergency services were called to Dandry Road in Coonabarabran after reports a Daihatsu Feroza had left the road and rolled.
NSW police from the Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and located the driver, a 43-year-old man, and his passenger, an unresponsive 11-year-old boy.

The boy was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
The man was taken to Coonabarabran Hospital with minor injuries and later transferred to Tamworth Base Hospital in a stable condition.
As inquiries continue into the cause of the crash, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
