The quest, now in its 36th year, searches for the entrant who best represents Tamworth and its community.
Each entrant has their own sponsor, generally their employer, who they help promote over the festival period.
They also promote local businesses and the Zonta Club of Tamworth.

Dominique Judd, the co-ordinator of the event, says the crowned queen had the opportunity to travel overseas as well.
“We look for someone who is a great role for ambassador when they travel overseas to New Zealand,” Ms Judd said.
“They’re judged on grooming, how well they present to the community, on their mingling, and how they help others.”
Entrant Amy Duncan said the Toastmasters public speaking event, as part of the development section of the quest, had helped give her a voice.
“The Toastmasters event definitely helped my confidence and public speaking, and was a good experience,” Ms Duncan said.
“It challenged me a lot, but it’s a process you can get through.”
The crowning gala for this year’s queen and princess will be held on January 27 at the Tamworth Jockey Club.
