Congratulations to Megan Tousdale and the Hills of Gold Preservation Inc (HOGPI) for taking such a strong stand against the construction of a 98 turbine wind farm in the vicinity of Nundle and Hanging Rock.
The proposal to build this windfarm in an area classified as Class C (where Class A is best) is against the wishes of so many people living in Nundle/Hanging Rock as stated in Megan’s recent Letter to the Editor.
The benefits to the local community are minimal and overstated by the proposers who have offered money as compensation through a Community Fund for the inconvenience, destruction of the environment and lifestyles with the construction of these 98, 200 metre high turbines.
If the proposal to build this industrial park is approved, the turbines, whether effective or not, will remain in place for 25 years and will be obsolete within this period.
There are far better locations to build these structures where they will not impact on any of the above and work far more efficiently to give a better return for investors dollars.
