The 10-year-old Kootingal Public School student set out to raise $700 for Variety – but with the community rallying around her, she’s smashed her goal, and has almost raised $1000.
Variety use Addyson’s hair to make wig, which will be given to a kid that has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
“She’s had so much support and praise for what she is doing,” her mother Sallie said.
Addyson wanted to donate her hair after watching Alexa and Katie, where one of the main characters is diagnosed with cancer and loses her hair just as she starts high school.
Addyson will get the chop this Saturday, September 15, at Hair by Bex in Moonbi.
