
POLICE are appealing for public help after a child was approached by a suspicious man in Glen Innes.
The 14-year-old girl was walking through Fenton Park on Lambeth Street about 10am on Wednesday.
Police have been told the man approached the girl near the disused station.
Officers said the man made lewd gestures at the girl, before she ran off and took refuge in a local hotel.
Police were alerted and have been investigating the incident.
Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone that may have seen the man acting suspiciously.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, with olive skin and a stocky build and aged in his late 30s.
He also is believed to be about 180cm tall and have dark hair that is cut longer on the top with shaved back and sides.
At the time, police said he was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and work boots.
