West Entertainment Group chief Rod Laing has issued a warning to the public to beware of scalpers, with at least one keen fan already falling victim to a dodgy website for the upcoming Hay Mate drought fundraiser at Scully Park.

While John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite, The Veronicas and Guy Sebastian will definitely be at the October 27 event, that cannot be said for anyone who doesn’t purchase tickets through either the club or Ticketmaster.
“Unfortunately this lady googled the concert and this website was first on the list,” Mr Laing said.
“She will not be able to know until the night whether the ticket she bought is legitimate or not.”

The Leader found tickets available on website Viagogo, retailing for more than $200, or twice the asking price on Thursday, although patrons are reminded that there are still over 6000 tickets remaining.
“The 800 seats in the grandstand sold out in under an hour, and we have sold well over 3000 more,” Mr Laing said.
“Capacity will be somewhere near the 10,000 mark, although we are definitely expecting to sell-out.”
